Connor wasn't the biggest fan of the mall. It was usually crowded, never anywhere to sit, and it was always embarrassing when he had to go by himself for practices. Such as this afternoon. Well it was more like evening now, Connor having spent a good amount of time just wandering around and looking conflicted as he entered stores.

The last one had the workers keeping on eye on him like he was about to shoplift or something.

And ok, walking into a jewelry store with a face that looks like he's conflicted about doing something he might regret wasn't the brightest of ideas. But hey, his mind was kind of elsewhere. Elsewhere being choosing a store and buying one simple item with as close to the correct amount as he can, and making sure he has correct change.

Sounded simple. For anyone who wasn't him. Since he first been dropped off at the Department Store, with instructions to call when he was ready to go home, he had felt nothing but anxiety. And it only grew worse each time he attempted to go buy something, so much so that he'd chicken out every time.

At this point, he wanted a distraction before he ends up with a panic attack.

It wasn't much that could make the trickster over think on things, especially unknowingly. Normally, he was the type to let things that may bother him go before it's become even more troublesome, or find a quick solution to the problem. Or well, just ignore it entirely, whatever works best for him that moment.
Bu right now, barely an hour after his little hanging-out with his best friend, Loki couldn't for the life of him stop thinking about that dense idiot... and the kiss. The one he himself had started. Why? Because he had felt like messing around with the older troublemaker, like they both always did, and a kiss was nothing more than that. A freaking kiss. And yet it still kept repeating itself over and over in the annoyed teen's mind.

His typical smug and mischievous expression was for the moment replaced by a frown, way to distracted by his own thoughts to bother with his surroundings as he aimlessly strolled through the crowd. He had even walked past the store that always sold the best strawberries in town. Had Clopin, Jasmine or even that moron he called best friend noticed this, they would have panicked. Probably thinking Loki had finally lost his mind or having caught some deadly disease.

Muttering to himself in some weird mix of norwegian and icelandic, Loki barely even reacted when he walked straight into a group of some group of teenagers, all of them at least twice his size.
"Watch where ya going kid," the guy he had bumped into muttered, glaring down at the small brunette who the whole gang immediately recognised. Loki however just stood there, giving them all a bored and tired look. Then his bored gaze landed on the milkshake in the bigger guy's hand, and wordlessly grabbed it, drinking it all up in one go before casually tossing it over his shoulder and continuing on his merry way.
It took about 5 seconds before the guy's brain registered what had just happend, and just as suspected he ran after the trickster with threats and curses rolling out his mouth. Seeing this as a good enough distraction for the moment, he gave them all the finger before easily making his escape through the big, fat crowd.

Connor's prayers were soon answered in the form of a ruckus occurring further into the crowd, with someone yelling out curses. Blue eyes blinked as the raven-haired teen turned at the source, hearing it get louder and louder, as he wondered what on earth happened. Was someone shop lifting? Was it a group of thugs messing with someone? Bullies and the bullied? A prank gone wrong on the Rent-a-Cop?

The answer revealed itself through the appearance of a familiar brunette running out of the crowd and towards him. He blinked for what couldn't have been more than a second before the older teen reacted on instinct.

He reached out with his hand and made to grab the back of the other's shirt, as his strength could easily keep the boy where he was when used. "What happened and where's the fire?' he asked, raising an eyebrow as he heard the yells get closer. Again acting on instinct, he took a couple of steps back into the heavy crowd -ideally with the short teen- to avoid whoever it as that was so angry.

Loki had only time to let out of surprised gasp when someone suddenly grabbed hold of the back of his hoodie, the sudden force making Loki choke on his breath as he was dragged off. When he could breathe normally again, but unfortunately not yet released by whoever it was who'd caught him, Loki shot his captor a dark glare. Which then quickly vanished into a look of light surprise when he saw who it was. "Oh hey, the anti-bully guy, what a nice surprsie," he grinned cheeckily, making a careful but not as desperate attempt to get free. He knew this guy was strong, the idea Loki already had of Connor's streanght was apparently underastimated. As if Loki wasn't weak physically enough already...

He cast a glance towards where the yelling was heard, sighing boredly to himself when he realised the blockheads had ran straight past where he was being held. Well so much for that little distraction... He looked back up at Connor, half-grinning to himself. He'll have to do for now. "They were just a little upset over some spilt milkshake," he shrugged.
"So, to what do I owe the pleasure~?" he purred, crossing his skinny arms over his chest. "Here to make sure I don't 'bully' anyone?" he couldn't help but snort. "And also, could you please let go before ruining my hoodie?" He didn't sound as smug or unbothered like he usually did anymore, but firm and dead serious. "It happens to hold personal value for me."

Connor rolled his eyes at the name he was given when the other looked up to see who had caught him. Well, he'd take the Anti-Bully Guy over Mr. Abs. Made him a little less self-conscious. "Yeah a surprise alright." he muttered, blue eyes watching as a group went passed where they where. Never once looked his way and thus had no clue he held what they were looking for.

He looked back down at the other, still firmly in his grasp, as he commented on how his pursers were mad over a milkshake. He raised his brow at his, not sure how much he actually believed the story before deciding on that is was somewhat possible. Even if a bit unlikely. "Looked more than a little upset to me." he stated, tilting his head a bit to the side as the other continued to grin.

As the boy in his grasp purred at him, asking what he owed the pleasure, Connor rolled his eyes though felt his cheeks heat up a bit. Did this guy always act like that? "Just heard a ruckus, and saw you running from the source." he said simply, giving a shrug. "Got curious about what happened and why you were in such a hurry." It had also been a great distraction from the task he was supposed to be doing.

When the other suddenly stopped grinning, the older teen suddenly felt like things became a hundred times more serious. And upon the question about being let go, Connor nodded his head silently. Glancing down to make sure he didn't have the guy up in the air -sometimes he didn't without realizing- and instead firmly on the ground, he released his grip on the fabric before flushing in embarrassment. "Sorry." he said softly, rubbing the back of his neck. "Wasn't really thinking when I reached out." Of course as soon as he said the words, he knew he set himself up for some kind of joke about his intelligence, wincing a bit as he waited for it no doubt come.

Loki's smirk didn't return, as it usually would, when Connor realeased him. His expression kept the light frown as he carefully adjusted his beloved hooded sweater, for once not having any energy to keep up his unbotherd mask he was so damn good at. Wow... he really was affected by the whole Jim-incident, far worse than he would like to admit. Had that dense moron always had this huge impact on him? How... embarrassing.

At hearing the older teen's apology, Loki glanced back up at him, expression unreadable as he didn't bother replying at first. But at Connor's next sentence, he couldn't hold back a small laughter. "I wish I could do that sometimes," he chuckled, green eyes wandering off aimlessly through the crowd of people, but not really looking at anything or anyone in particular. "Not think. Would save me alot from headaches..." he mumbled, more to himself than his company.
"...don't worry about it," he then sighed, focuing back on the tehr with small, tired smile. "Unlike the rest, your intent wasn't on hurting me."

When the shorter teen didn't go right back to smirking or smiling, Connor felt like he might have done something wrong. It wouldn't be the first time really, he was socially awkward and didn't always think before he acted in situations like this. The other was probably very annoyed at being manhandled, and who wouldn't be? Really he was asking for that idiot joke that was surely coming.

Only... it didn't.

When the other gave a small laugh, he had been so sure it was going to happen. Had braced himself for it. But instead, the other seemed to wish he could do that too as he looked around listlessly. Like he wasn't fully there. Was his mind heavy with thought? Despite what other kids thought, Connor knew that feeling well.

He was about to say something when the other spoke again, looking back at him with a tired smile as he was told not to worry about it. The whole grabbing thing Connor assumed, since the younger teen hadn't acknowledged his apology just yet. The last sentence was a bit unsettling. Sure the guy was kind of annoying at times, and had a habit of saying things that seemed kind of mean. But was that reason for someone to try and hurt the guy? Didn't seem right to the stronger of the two.

But he wasn't exactly sure what to say on the matter either. So he shrugged before leaning against the wall that was nearby. "I- I didn't right?" he asked after a moment, looking down at his shoes. "Hurt you I mean." he clarified, "Like you said, it wasn't my intent but... I didn't right? I'm not always in the best control of my strength. I've gotten better over the years but... sometimes I... break tings. Or hurt someone. And I don't mean to. So...if I did hurt you, sorry for that too."

Running a hand through his hair, he glanced up at Loki before moving his gaze to the crowd. "The not thinking never comes when you need it to." he said suddenly, stuffing his hands into his pockets. "When you're mind is thinking too much, full of all kinds of stuff. Usually the bad stuff. That's when you can never get yourself to not think." He knew well enough from experience.

Pushing himself off of the wall, he reached out and tugged lightly at the other's sleeve. "Wanna go do something?" He didn't exactly have a plan or anything, but he felt like the other needed a distraction, no matter how small, and he needed one too. And... it would be nice to actually hang out with someone he kind of knew.

Loki blinked once, giving the older boy a sort taken aback look at his question, actually sounding concerned as he asked if he had hurt him or not. And as Connor kept on explaining himself without really needing too, Loki actually felt a little... touched. He had been certain Connor had been more than just annoyed with him last time they talked, and for good reasons apparently, yet here was apologizing and looking worried for the trickster's current condition. Then again, it could very well be because he was just a genuine good guy, not everyone enjoyed the feeling or rush of hurting others...

"Don't worry about it," he repeated, dropping the small smile had had managed to muster up only minutes before. Grumbling to himself, he moved a hand up to his head, rubbing his temple gently. For having such an ''evolved'' brain or whatever those scientists had liked to say, he sure got headaches pretty fucking easily when something troubled him.
Inhaling slowly, he turned his focus fully back up Connor, expression completely blank this time. "Really, you didn't hurt me. Still standing am I?" he assured him with a chuckle, holding out his arms and twirling around once just for the heck of it. A small hint of the usual smirk he wore called back as he stood up on his toes and flickers Connor on the laughing at them both while stepping away. "Drop that sad puppy look, doesn't suit your handsome face~" he winked. "I ain't worth to worry over." He was smiling as he said this, but his voice was empty.

Loki was about to just turn and leave at that, but found his feet halting when the blue eyed male spoke up again. His whole demeanor showed no sighs or reaction as he listened to Connor speak, standing still with his back half turned to the older.
"Whoever came up with the idea of you being unintelligent, clearly doesn't even know what the word means," he laughed genuine, feeling a bit of his sour mood lift a little.
He turned back around, about to add something else to his sentence but stopped short as he felt the slight tug on his sleeve. Blinking yet again, he just stared at Connor for a moment before replying. In a typical 'Loki-way' as some like to put it.
"Oh there's something I want to do alright," he grinned mischievously, giving the taller a wink before grabbing hold of his hand and dragging him off. "Hope you've got money to spend!" he sang happily.
