PostSubject: Candy From a Stranger [Loki]   Sat Mar 07, 2015 9:07 pm

It was a beautiful Saturday morning, the sun shining bright and warm while the birds sang happily. It was a perfect day to go to the park. And that was Lilo's first statement upon being dropped off with her Nanny that her Daddy's Boss paid to watch after her when Daddy had to work. Of course the woman had no problem with that, fresh air was good for the child after all.

And so the two had set off for the park, Lilo being a good girl and holding her Nanny's hand while her other hand held onto her odd little doll. It wasn't a barbie or really any other kind of conventional doll, or even one the odder ones like Monster high Dolls or the alien dolls. No hers was strange in the sense that it was made of cloth, was green, and had a very large head with mismatch button eyes. And her mouth was sewn in a way that made it look like it was sewn shut.

As strange as it was, Lilo loved her doll. Though not many other kids seemed to share her sentiment.

Along the way to the park, wide chocolate eyes looked about, taking in the familiar signs of the city. Occasionally she would see a spirit and would smile brightly as she gave out a greeting, unaware of looks she would receive from passerbyers.

When they reached the park, Lilo released her Nanny's hand and ran off towards the playground. Her happy laughter filled the air as she made her way towards other kids and sought out a playmate. Some of the kids came with siblings or friends of their own and stuck with them, so the raven-haired girl sought out those who came by themselves.

There was a group playing tag that she tried to join in, but they were all older kids who didn't want a 'baby' to play with them. Puffing up her cheeks, Lilo placed a hand on her hip and stomped her foot. She kept trying to pester them to let her play, but they shooed her away.

With a huff, she walked away to look for another playmate.

Ugh, so bored, the teen sulked to himself, staring lazily at some kids playing tag a little further off. He was currently occopying a bench, sitting upside down with his legs slung over the backrest and his head hanging just abrely above the ground. He ignored the weird and annoyed looks for them bypassers, to busy feeling sorry for himself for not havign anything intresstign to do. Sure, he had been the one to distance himself from Jim, telling himself he needed some space to think. However, that idea quickly gave him headaches and a sour mood. He couldn't pop up at Milo's pace either, since the dork wasn't home around this time of day anyway. And Lena and Kayley were probably locked up in a classroom with retarded teachers and other stupid students. Hmm... Clopin was busy too wiht whatever, and Loki currnetly lakced the energy to track him down. How about the bookstore? Nah, Polly would just throw him out and demand him to go to school.
Is it possible to die of boredom? he thought to himself with a heavy sigh, fishing out a strawberry flavourd lollipop from his pocket.

Lilo had gone from the group of big kids to the slide, waiting in line to climb up. Tan hands held tightly to her doll, the little girl rolling on her feet as she waited. When it was her turn, she tucked her doll under her chin and began to climb up the slide. AS she made it to the top, she placed her dolly onto her lap and took a moment to appreciate the view.

She could see across the whole playground, children running all over to play. She could even see some of the benches that had people on them. One of which caught her eye and curiosity. Someone was sitting on a bench upside down!

Giggling at the sight, Lilo finally slid down the slide. As soon as her feet touched the ground, she bounded off across the playground. Running with the ease of a young child full of energy, she made her way over towards the bench, chocolate eyes taking in more detail of the person as she got closer. It wasn't a grown up, it was a big kid. Bigger than the ones playing tag.

Coming up to the big boy, Lilo bent down and tilted her head, trying to make herself look upside down to see his face right side up. "Hi!" she said happily, giggling a little at how funny things looked. "What cha doing?"

With the lolipop in his mouth, and still in the spot and position on the bench, Loki settled with just watching the kids playing around and judging the adults chatting away. As his green eyes lazily wanderd over the playground, they landed on the slide where the smaller children exciedtly climbed up on. A certain girl with a rather intressting looking doll caught his attention for a short second, who ahd apparently tkae notice of him too. Sighing again, Loki closed his eyes, wondering how stif his neck would be if he fell alseep like this.

He opened his eyes at hearing the happy greeting, blinking when he saw the small girl from the slide barley a minute ago now inches away from his face instead. "Hi there," he greeted back, expression blank and tone bored as ever. "Dying of boredom," he answerd her question, glacning around to try and see where her parents or caretacker were. Adults usally paniced whenever their or someone elses kids talked to him. One had even accused him once of trying to give a 7 year old boy drugs, when all Loki had done was give the kid his dropped toy back. Then again, he guessed those overdramatic parents had their fair reason to worry.

Focusing back at the giggling girl, Loki for some reason started to think about sunshine and puppies, along with chocolate rain and candy. This girl particularly screamed sweetness and adorableness. "That's a nice doll you got there," he said casually, trying to figure out what it was.

Lilo found herself grinning brightly as the big boy opened his eyes and greeted her back, though he didn't sound nearly as happy as she did. He didn't look to happy either. Not that he looked sad, just not happy. When the older boy claimed he was dying of boredom, the little girl giggled and stood up straight again. A tan skinned hand reached out, and a chubby little finger poked the boy on his nose.

"You can't die from boredom." she informed him with a smile, finding the idea very silly indeed. She of course had her own moments of boredom, and it was never fun. But she knew from experience you couldn't die from it. And she defiantly never met a spirit that did either. When he complimented her doll, a bright smile formed on Lilo's lips as she preened with pride. "Thanks!" she said, holding the doll out for the boy to see better.

"This is Scrubs!" she informed proudly, "Daddy and I made her together! Her head's a little too big, but that's cause bugs went in and laid eggs in her head. I saw it on tv once." As she spoke, Lilo crawled up onto the bench to sit next to the boy, placing the doll in her lap. "But it's ok, I used my magic to make sure the eggs won't hatch so she can live. She might need surgery though. Still waiting on the test results." Little hands played with the arms of Scrubs, making them move up and done, as chocolate eyes looked at the boy.

Most people didn't stay to listen to Scrubs's story. She liked this boy! "I was gonna name her Stitch at first, cause of her smile. But then I thought about it and Stitch is really a boy name. So I went with Scrubs, because that's more of a girl name." Her Nanny thought that neither name was really a name at all, but Lilo didn't listen. If she said it was a name, that it was her doll's name. "I'm Lilo." she added as well, realizing she hadn't told the boy her name. "What's your name?" she asked, tilting her head to the side.

Loki just blinked when Lilo poked him on the nose, quirkcing an eyeborw in slight amusment when she stated that he couldn't possibly die of something like that.
The trickster felt his lips twithc into a smile at the girl's proud smile and her rather intressting doll. The whole story she told him was funny, and extremly cute. Her bubbly and excited perosnality was kinda rubbing off on him already. Creative one, ain't she? he told himself as he attentively litsend to her story, nodding at times and smiling through the whole tale. Not somethign you'd hear everyday from a little girl.
Chuckling to himself and her adorable persona, he moved upwards and around until he was sitting normally on the bench. "Nice to meet you Lilo," he smiled down at the girl, poking her on the nose gently. "You too Scrubs," he waved at the doll. "You can call me Loki."

As this big boy moved to sit right side up, Lilo shifted a little in her seat to avoid getting accidentally hit by a moving limb. Returning the other's smile with a big one of her own, the tan-skinned little girl giggled as he included Scrubs in his nice-to-meet-yous. When he gave his name, Lilo tilted her head to the side. She never heard that kind of name before, but it sounded cool.

"Nice to meet you Loki." she said in return, untilting her head and lifting up Scrubs. "She says it's nice to meet you too!" she informed, holding the doll up higher and moving one of her arms as if the toy was waiving.

Now that she knew his name, and he had even talked to Scrubs, Lilo was sure that made the two of them friends. Or close to it. She liked making friends. Especially since she never seemed to make many. That were alive anyways. And since they were friends, that meant she had someone to play with. "Wanna play?" she asked, chocolate eyes starring up hopeful.

That giggle of her was contagious, and Loki found himself a little more drawn to the bright and sweet girl. How come she was here alone, talking to him instead of playing with kids her own age? He glanced over the playground again, seeing all the other children with playing and laughing with someone, except for this girl sitting on the bench with him. He felt a pang of familiarity hit him, and it twisted uncomfortably in his gut.

No other kids to play with.

Not like he'd make any friends anyway.

He'd scare them all off.

That, or they'd beat him up.

"Sure," he smiled down at her hopeful expression, moving forwads slightly andresting his elbows on his knees so they could be at eyelevel with each other. Her parents had their sself to blame if they disliked their girl haging aorund him anyway. "What do you wanna play?"

Chocolate colored eyes went wide with joy and Lilo's smile grew large and bright as Loki agreed to play with her. "Really?" she asked, as if she couldn't really believe that the older boy would agree to play with her of all kids. Feeling a swell of happiness fill up inside, she squeezed Scrubs tightly to her chest and giggled with happiness.

When asked what she wanted to play, the little girl tilted her head in thought. What did she want to play? Tag was fun, but the older boy was no doubt faster than her. Plus it was only the two of them. She only liked playing house with Daddy or her nanny or Miss Lady if she was around and wanted to. Though it wouldn't be so bad with this boy. Maybe.

But then again, Hide and Go Seek was really fun! And she was great at it too. "Let's play Hide and Seek!" she said, bouncing a little in her seat. Looking into the eyes that had lowered down to her level, she gave her best winning smile. "Can we? It's my favorite. And I'm super good at it."

That's got to be one of the widest smile I've seen, the trickster thought as he watched the girl's whole demeanor brighten up, unable to resist smiling himself. She sure is contagious.
For a moment, Lilo reminded him a little off Clopin. Not to say she seemed mad or anything, but the way she smiled with her whole being, and that brightful and drawing aura she held felt so familiar... and welcoming.

"Really," he assuerd her, absently wondering if he had ever looked or felt as happy like Lilo once. He blinked at her suggestion, titling his head slightly to the side as he thought about it. That's a game he used be wuite found of as well... Using the facility as his playground, with Henrik happily playing along and giving Birger a hard time finding them before their parents and rest realized he was outside of his 'room' again.
"Well, if you insist," he grinned brightly a the girl, jumping off of the bench and twirled around on his heel. "Then who should count down first~? You, me or Scrubs?"
